George DugganBorn December 6, 1869, George Duggan was married to Mary Ella Duggan with whom he had 12 children. Per the 1905 Census, the Duggan family resided on Fayard Street in Biloxi. George Duggan was the captain of the schooner Emma Harvey when he and a crew of 7, including his son Arthur and nephew Lawrence Bennett, set out from Biloxi to Chandeleur Island on a shrimping trip on 4 Jul 1916. They were overtaken by a Category 3 hurricane the following evening and disappeared from their anchorage at the island. The Emma Harvey was discovered on 12 Aug floating bottom side up about 25 miles from Pensacola, Florida, however, neither Captain Duggan nor any members of his crew were ever recovered.
