Originating as Luka Kuljis Oil Dock, Kuljis Seafood and Ice Co. was owned and operated by his sons, Peter “Mex” Kuljis and Steve Kuljis. Located on Highway 90 in the Point Cadet neighborhood of Biloxi, the processing company boasted a fleet of nine shrimping vessels and is recognized as one of the top contributors to Biloxi’s seafood industry.
It is the commitment of Slavic communities such as the Kuljis family that has made the Mississippi Gulf Coast the historically rich destination it is today. Their contributions, along with other industry giants such as Mavar and Anticich have created the heritage that we honor still.
