An oil screw built in Ocean Springs in 1975, Miss Pat’s original name was Big Moe. The vessel was built by master carpenter, Raymond S. Beaugez. The boat’s dimensions were as follows: length 54.6 feet, breadth 18.4 feet and depth 5.6 feet. Weight 30 tons.
She was purchased by Sid King on December 26, 1978 and after extensive repairs was awarded a certificate of incorporation and name change to Miss Pat. She was named for Sid King’s wife, Patricia King.
In the early 1990s, Miss Pat caught fire, burned and sank off the Mississippi Coast. The Miss Pat had secured a place in the Maritime History of Biloxi as the vessel was chosen as the lead boat for the Biloxi Blessing of the Fleet for a number of years and took part in the annual “Landing of d’Iberville” in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
