The OXALIS was one of the three Biloxi schooners built to serve on the fleet of E.C. Joullian Packing Company on Back Bay Biloxi. It was built in 1903, a year that, as reported by The Daily Herald, "Biloxi's boat carpenters built 21 large vessels", amid the now booming seafood industry.
