The SAM MAVAR, a1950 wooden hull Biloxi lugger with dimensions: length 52.3 feet, breadth 17.6 feet, depth 4.2 feet. Weight 31 gross, 26 net tons with a 165-horsepower engine was built by the Mavar Boat Company to serve in the fleet of Mavar Shrimp & Oyster Company. It is named for the son of John Mavar.
